My Generic Content

My first Podcast's generic content wasn't nearly refined enough. When people listen to these podcast's, they should be able to listen to them anywhere and everywhere. For example, one airport will have many similar features to another, however there will differences as well and this means I need to use generic vocabulary and not be too specific so all the listeners can have an equally effective experience without having to use their imagination too much.

My podcast's overall generic content is wrong. I talk about checking in, security and the departure waiting room. However my listener would need to be able to go straight to an airport without having a holiday booked. Therefore these scenes wouldn't be generic to the experience. They are generic to the location, but the experience I am trying to build would not fit with these features.

Therefore none of these features will be able to be featured in the final podcast.

Refining the Generic Content
The features that are generic to the entrance/foyer of an airport are:

  • Benches
  • Trolleys
  • People- both people in a rush and calm people
  • Announcements
  • Cafes
  • Signs
These are the type of features I will need to include to refine my generic content. I think I can be creative with these features even with simple ideas.
